Summary
The Associate Director, Transactional Law will provide legal support for the contracting needs of various departments, including research, process development, manufacturing and commercial./p>
Principal Responsibilities:
- Negotiates, drafts and counsels on a wide variety of commercial contracts, e.g., service agreements and consulting agreements, including those related to manufacturing, supply chain, and commercial
- Manages and supervises paralegals
- Mentors junior staff and colleagues on processes and legal issues/scenarios
- Provides legal interpretation of contracts and practical business-oriented legal advice
- Adopts risk management approach to contracting, identifying and communicating risk while providing actionable solutions for managing risk
- Interfaces with external legal resources, as needed
- Other responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 7 years of relevant legal experience, including experience as in-house counsel and U.S.-based public company experience
- Experience in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment is critical, as is ability to roll up sleeves and work in a hands-on manner
- Experience directly managing and supervising staff
- Experience in the pharmaceutical/biotechnology industry
- Experience with contract lifecycle management systems desired
- Computer proficiency including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
