(AVI) is a company founded as a spin-off entity of allvivo, Inc. (allvivo). AVI holds an exclusive worldwide license for allvivo, Inc.'s biomimetic surface technologies in the cardiovascular field of use. Given allvivo's broad technology platform and opportunities to develop the EGAP coating for other markets, the spin-off strategy has provided strategic focus and dedicated funding for introducing allvivo's technology to the coronary market. AVI maintains a 5,000 sq.ft. research and administrative facility in Lake Forest, CA.
allvivo, Inc. was formed in December of 1999 in Birmingham, AL to design tools for proteomics and cellomics research based on proprietary coating technologies developed originally at the University of Utah's Center for Biopolymers and Interfaces. In the spring of 2002, the company relocated to Southern California and shifted its strategic focus to address clinical applications, i.e. drug device combination products. | |
